As per the ministry of Agriculture, the total paddy sown area as on 30th June is around 38.93 lakh hectares compared to 39.08 lakh hectares at the corresponding time last year. It is reported that transplanted area is around 25% lower from normal area till date of 51.56 lakh hectares.
