As per the latest reports received from States to Agriculture Ministry, the area under rabi rice in India as on March 13, 2015 stands at 36.72 lakh hectare as compared to 41.43 lakh hectare at this time last year. As per the second Advance Estimates, the production of rice in India stands at 103.04 million tonnes for 2014-2015 year.
