As per the latest reports received from States, area under rabi rice in India as on 27 February, 2015 stands at 30.45 lakh hectare as compared to 35.40 lakh hectare at this time last year, according to Ministry of Agriculture. Rice is sown in kharif, rabi and summer season in India. Rice is the major food grain crop in India.
