As per Ministry of Agriculture, the total paddy sown area as on 16th June 2017 stands at 9.22 lakh hectares compared to 9.40 lakh hectares sown at the corresponding period last year. This year paddy transplantation is down by 1.90% from last year and higher by around 47% from normal area till date of 6.3 lakh hectares.
