According to the agriculture ministry`s recent update, India's total rabi rice sowing was at 94,000 hectares, down 10.5% from a year ago. Rice is sown in kharif, rabi and summer season. Rice is expected to trade higher because of decline in kharif arrivals in major markets and on likely lower year-on-year rabi sowing this year.
