Mustard is the major rabi oilseed crop in India. Sowing area under total oilseeds in the key producing states is at 74.06 lakh hectares as compared to 79.03 lakh hectares last year, according to the recent update by Agriculture Ministry. National Mission on Oilseeds is being implemented in 23 States in India during 2014-2015.
