Farmers at the key Mustard producing states are forced to sell their mustard produce below MSP (minimum support prices). The MSP for rapeseed mustard is fixed at Rs. 3700 per quintals by the Government. Higher production and strong supplies at the spot market has forced mustard prices to trade below the MSP.
