As per 4th advance estimates released by Ministry of Agriculture, Mustard seed production is expected to be around 8.5 million tons in the current Rabi season against 6.8 million tons produced last year. As on February 3’ 2017, Mustard seed has been sown in an area of 70.56 lakh hectares that is up by more than 9% than the 64.53 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year.
