In an ongoing Rabi season, Moongbean sowing is down 15% at 1.54 lakh hectares as compared to 1.82 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year. Normal in season area of Moongbean is 9.21 lakh hectares in the country. Odisha, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are the key producer of Rabi Moongbean.
