This year, Moong sowing is down by more than 53% than the corresponding period of last year. As on June 16, Moong has been sown in an area of 0.64 lakh hectares against 1.35 lakh hectares sown last year. Rajasthan is the largest Moon producing state having normal in season area of 10.68 lakh hectares of land.
