Pulses production in the country estimated at 16.5 mt, down 4% compared to last year. Pulses output stood at 17.15 million tonnes in the 2014-15 crop year. Pulses consists of tur, gram, urad and moong where tur, urad and moong are predominantly a kharif crop while gram is mainly sown in rabi. Urad and Moong also sown in rabi season in some parts of country.
