The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has raised China's 2015-16 corn production estimate to 224.6 million tons, up 8.9 million or 4.1% from last year based on higher area and yield. The estimated yield of 5.89 metric tons per hectare is up 1.4% from last year, but below the record yield of 6.02 mt per ha set in 2013-14.
