The International Grains Council raised its forecast for global corn production in 2015-16 to reflect an improved crop outlook in China. Total grains production in 2015-16 was put at 1.970 billion tonnes, which is more by 4 million tonnes from its previous forecast but still it is 43 million tonnes below the prior season's yield of 2.013 billion tonnes.
