The International Grains Council raised its forecast for global corn production in 2015-16 to reflect an improved crop outlook in China. Total grains production in 2015-16 was put at 1.970 billion tonnes, up 4 million tonnes from its previous forecast but it is still 43 million tonnes below from the prior season's 2.013 billion tonnes.
