The European Union's crop-monitoring service cut its yield forecast for this year's European Union grain maize harvest for a second straight month, after hot and dry weather stressed crops in major producing countries. The MARS service projected the average grain maize yield at 6.40 tonnes per hectare, down from 6.71 t/ha estimated last month.
