The European Union's crop-monitoring service MARS had lifted its 2015 maize yield estimate last month after cutting it several times due to hot and dry weather in the bloc, put grain maize yields at 6.47 tonnes per hectare, up from 6.43 tonnes per hectare estimated last month. They warned about potential damage to 2016 winter crops.
