The European Union's crop monitoring service MARS slightly raised its forecast for the grain maize yield in this year's European Union harvest, to 6.43 tonnes per hectare (t/ha) from 6.40 t/ha estimated last month. Grain maize yields would still be 20.4 percent below from last year and down 8.5 percent on the five-year average, said in the report.
