South Africa will cut its 2016 maize forecast by almost 7 percent as late rains have failed to provide enough relief for a crop scorched by drought. Maize is South Africa's staple food and the price of the white variety, which is used for human consumption has doubled last year and it is now pressuring inflation. Now it is accelerated to 7 percent in February.
