Colombia has approved the import of about 2.5 million additional tonnes of corn and is weighing how much rice it will allow in as the government seeks to shore up supplies amid a drought that is battering food production and stoking inflation in the country. Corn imports are set to begin. They are estimating an import of 2.5 million tonnes of corn.
