China could double its subsidies this year to corn processors in the main producing area in northeast in a bid to help the loss-making industry and stimulate consumption. Corn processors with a capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes a year would be offered a subsidy of 200 yuan ($32) per tonne, double that offered last year.
