As per the recent data released by Central Agriculture Ministry, in India maize have been sown on 3.43 lakh hectares as on 13th November, 2015, higher by 0.11 lakh hectares than the corresponding period of last year. Major maize growing states in the country are Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Bihar and Maharashtra.
