Jeera or cumin seed sowing in Gujarat state was recorded 2.64 lakh hectares, 42 percent less sowing compared to last year’s 4.54 lakh hectares. As per Government data, 2.41 lakh hectares of cumin crop is damaged in Rajasthan state. In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera spot prices were edged up by Rs 24 to end at Rs 16230 per quintal.
