Jeera or cumin seed output is expected to fall steeply in the Gujarat state this year. Jeera output was 3.46 lakh tons in the Gujarat state last year but may fall this year as acreage is slashed by 42%, according to the analysts. Jeera productivity is expected to improve after the rainfall received recently in the Gujarat state, a major Jeera producing state.
