Bullish trend in jeera or cumin seed prices were prevailing in major spot markets of Gujarat and Rajasthan on account of lower supply and higher demand. Gujarat, the largest cumin seed producer in the country has reduced production for 2014-15. This season there is production cut and reports of crop damage due to unfavourable weather.
