Area under Guarseed production in India could drop 20 percent in the coming season due to falling prices of the seed. Guar seed prices have fallen to the lowest level in five years after the United States shale gas producers cut guar gum purchases due to lower oil prices. Guar Seed prices have fallen 41 percent in a year to Rs. 3100 per 100 kilograms.
