Groundnut exports of India have declined over the past three years, due to stricter quality norms and lower availability on sustained decline in local production in the country. Groundnut exports were fell 30 per cent from 832,617 tonnes in 2011-2012 to 509,665 tonnes in 2013-2014. Gujarat is the major groundnut producing state in India.
