As on 23rd September 2016, Groundnut has been sown in an area of 46.93 lh that is up by 29% from last year acreage of 36.38 lakh hectares. Normal in season area is 43.77 lakh hectares in the country. Higher prices of Groundnut in comparison to other Oilseeds have encouraged the farmers to plant more groundnut this year.
