According to the Directorate of Oilseeds Development, Indian farmers harvested an estimated 5.02 million tons of groundnut in kharif season and the government is targeting another 1.81 million tons groundnut production from this rabi season. For 2013-2014, the country's groundnut output pegged at 9.67 million tons.
