According to the Directorate of Oilseeds Development, Indian farmers harvested an estimated 5.02 million tons of groundnut in the kharif season and the government is targeting another 1.81 million tons production from this rabi season. For 2013-2014 year, the country's groundnut output has been pegged at 9.67 million tons.
