World production of cotton for 2014-2015 has been lowered by 89,000 tonnes, primarily owing to reductions in production of India and Uzbekistan. World raw cotton consumption has been raised by 51,000 tonnes for 2014-2015 and 45,000 tonnes for 2015-2016. Global cotton stocks are expected to rise by 2,079,000 tonnes in the current season.
