Whitefly infestation is reported in Cotton crop in Bhatinda and Fazilka districts of Punjab. Farmers are worried that there could be increased infestation if current hot and humid weather continue to prevail for the next fortnight. During the period 1st June to 31st July, Punjab has recorded 16% less rain than the normal. Whitefly pest grows and spread in hot, dry and humid conditions.
