Recent data from the Indian Agriculture Ministry showed that the area under cotton has increased to a record 123.71 lakh hectares this year against 113.12 lakh hectares last year. Indian cotton prices are seen under pressure as domestic production next season is seen at a new high of over 375 lakh bales, said Cotton Advisory Board.
