Pakistan was forced to buy cotton from India due to the decline in domestic supply caused by the widespread attack of whiteflies on cotton crops. In a first, demand from Pakistan for Indian cotton surged to 16 lakh bales. Pakistan pipped Bangladesh to become top buyer of Indian cotton. Experts has foreseen further rise in demand of cotton from Pakistan.
