Pakistan has become the largest buyer of Indian cotton this season (October 2015 to September 2016) with purchase of 25 lakh bales till date that is about 40% of the total shipments of Cotton from the country so far in the season 2015-16. Cotton production in Pakistan is estimated to have declined by 35% to around 97 lakh bales in 2015-16.
