Lower acreage and lower output prediction for the year 2016-17 is providing support to cotton prices as prices have firmed up in the domestic market. Exports have started declining after prices tested a high of Rs. 50000 per candy. Till date, India has exported about 2.5 million bales to Pakistan only out of the total exports of 6.8 million bales.
