In Haryana, around 80-90% sowing has been completed and most of the sown varities are hybrids. So far cotton has been sown in an area of 5.830 lakh hectares in Haryana that is up by more than 16% than the last year sowing of same time i.e. 5.0 lakh hectares. Out of 5.83 lakh hectares, 5.77 lakh hectares are the Bt varities and 0.06 lakh hectares are non Bt varities. All Varities have a crop duration of around 180-220 days.
