Financial year 2017 (FY17) is unlikely to bring cheers for Indian cotton sector as prices are set to be under pressure. India Ratings and Research has maintained a negative outlook on cotton sector for FY17. Continuation of Chinese direct subsidy based policy and lower demand from spinning mills will keep domestic prices under pressure.
