Cotton sowing has started in full swing in irrigated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka and Rajasthan. In unirrigated areas, sowing may start after the onset of monsoon. As per reports, Cotton sowing is almost complete in southern Karnataka. Mysore district is the key producer of cotton in southern Karnataka. Major sown varieties are BT cotton.
