Cotton prices are trading firm on reports of lower supplies in domestic market. In the current Kharif sowing progress data released by Government, 45% lower sowing has been reported in cotton in comparison to last year. Till 24th June 2016, area under Cotton sowing is just 19.07 lakh ha as compared to 34.87 lakh ha same time last year.
