China will give farmers subsidies of 2,000 yuan ($330) per tonne of cotton harvested this crop year outside its top producing region of Xinjiang, potentially slowing a drop in the output in the world's top consumer of the fibre and dampening the demand for the imports, according to the China Cotton Association (CCA).
