As per the reports received from States to Agriculture Ministry, India`s total cotton sown area in 2015-16 as on 3rd July, stands at 60.16 lakh hectares as compared to 35.42 lakh hectares at this time last year. Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are the major cotton producing states in India.
