As per the data released by Ministry of Agriculture on July 21, Cotton sowing is up by 20% than the same time of last year. So far, cotton has been sown in 104.29 lakh hectares as against 86.86 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year. Most of the pulses area has been shifted towards cotton due to better realization from cotton last year.
