As per latest data from Agricultural Ministry, cotton is planted in 14.06 lakh hectares as on 9th June, higher by 42% compared to last year acreage of 9.88 lakh hectare for same period. In Punjab, cotton acreage was at 3.82 lha, up nearly 51% on year, while in Haryana, area is up 27.5% at 6.3 lha.
