According to trade sources, China has so far managed to sell 989,196 ton cotton from its state reserve in May-June, as against the one million tons offered. China's cotton imports dropped 51.6% in May from the same month last year. In latest USDA report for 2016-17, world production and beginning stocks are forecast down, due to lower production in China in 2015 & 2016.
