According to the Maharashtra agriculture minister, seed companies selling BT cotton seeds will have to reduce their rates by Rs 100 per packet of 450 grams in the view of farm distress in the State. Else, the State Government will issue an ordinance to reduce the prices of BT cotton seeds. Maharashtra is the major cotton producing state.
