The monetary council of the Brazilian government said it approved 4.6 billion reais (1.3 billion dollar) in funding for the coffee sector in the 2016 season, up from 4.14 billion reais in 2015 for financing producers and cooperatives. The funds will be administered by Funcafe, a fund which allocates subsidized credit for the coffee sector.
