The area under sowing of chickpea or chana in India is at 85.91 lakh hectares this year while the last year’s figure chana sowing was 102.25 lakh hectares, according to the recent updates from the Agriculture Ministry. Area coverage under Total Pulses in India is at 145.92 lakh hectares while the last year’s area coverage was 162.21 lakh hectares.
