Presently harvesting of the late sown chickpea or chana crop is going on in the northern India. According to the Agriculture Ministry, 0.53 lakh hectare area has been covered under summer pulses in Bihar followed by Gujarat (0.30 lakh ha), UP(0.20 lakh ha), West Bengal (0.17 lakh ha), Karnataka (0.15 lakh ha) and MP (0.05 lakh ha).
