Presently chickpea or chana (a major rabi pulse crop) is in early vegetative growth stage in the key chickpea producing states of India. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister, hiked the minimum support price (MSP) for chickpea or chana by Rs 75 to Rs 3175 per quintal for the current crop season ending June.
