Chickpea sowing in India was down to 7.96 million hectares, as compared to the last year’s 9.50 million hectares, according to the recent data released by the agriculture ministry. Area coverage under total pulses in India was at 12.99 million hectares, as compared to 14.47 million ha recorded during the same period last year.
